The direct entry pathway to Griffith University (Degree, Study Abroad or Exchange program) and Griffith College.

Academic English provides a direct entry pathway to Griffith University degree programs, Study Abroad and Exchange programs, and Griffith College courses. Designed to prepare you for academic success, the program develops the English language proficiency and academic study skills required to confidently participate in higher education. Upon successful completion, students can progress to eligible programs without sitting an external English language test, subject to meeting all entry requirements.

Designed specifically to prepare students for success in higher education, Academic English develops the language proficiency, academic literacy, critical thinking, research, and study skills required to thrive in a university environment. You will build the confidence to participate actively in lectures, tutorials, group discussions, presentations, and academic writing tasks.

Successful completion of Academic English provides a direct entry pathway to eligible Griffith University degree programs, Study Abroad and Exchange programs, and Griffith College courses. The program is recognised as meeting the English language proficiency requirements for entry, eliminating the need for an external English language test.

Whether English is your second language or you would like additional preparation before commencing your studies, Academic English will help you adapt to the expectations of Australian higher education and develop the skills needed to succeed both academically and professionally.

By the end of the program, you will be able to communicate effectively in a range of academic contexts, undertake independent learning, and confidently transition into your chosen Griffith University or Griffith College program.

Your Pathway to Griffith College and Griffith University

Successful completion of Academic English meets the English language proficiency requirements for entry to eligible Griffith University degree programs, Study Abroad and Exchange programs, and Griffith College courses. This means you can progress directly to your chosen program without sitting an external English language test such as IELTS or PTE, provided all other entry requirements are met.

With small classes, and an ultra-supportive learning environment, Griffith College will give you the confidence and study structure to make rapid progress. In most cases, our university-designed programs are worth the same as the first year of your degree – so you can jump straight to the second year of university study. And because our learning environment is geared to helping students make the transition to university life, you’ll be better prepared for success in your degree.
